Moving Into A Virtual World

I was watching some old episodes of Shark Tank On Demand yesterday and I saw this really cool ‘treadmill’ for a virtual reality gaming system, the Omni.

You can walk, run, jump, and duck as if you were really inside the game.  Special shoes and a harness come with the treadmill, unfortunately you need to purchase a virtual reality headset separately and at the moment it only works with PC games.

This invention didn’t win any funding from the sharks, one reason being they thought gamers were too lazy to want to get up and move.  I think that is ridiculous!  I think gamers are dreamers.  They want adventure.  EXCITEMENT!

I would LOVE to have one of these systems! And they’re cheap (for a virtual reality system that is…) Only $499! Of course, you do need to buy the headset separately, which drives up the price if you don’t already have one.

All in all, I think it’s pretty neat.  Check it out.  I just might have to get one myself in the near future.
