Beer Review: Stone and BlueJacket Suede

Tonight we tried Stone Brewery and BlueJacket Brewery’s Suede. This beer was a collaboration between the two breweries.

Appearance: Dark in color

Smell: Caramelized sugar, raisins

Taste: Molasses, Honey, Dark chocolate, Coffee, Jasmine, Raisin

Body: Medium to heavy, Velvety

Overall: 82 of 100

Alcohol By Volume: 9.6%

I love Stone Brewery’s beers.  They always live up to my expectations.  This beer is an imperial porter brewed with calendula flowers, jasmine, and honey.

Robert Frost: The Road Not Taken

Today I decided my quote of the day would be a Robert Frost quote.  I love Robert Frost, he’s one of my all time favorite poets, and as you can see, I even chose one of his quotes as my tagline.  “Freedom lies in being bold.”  Which I believe to be true.

I decided I would post one of his poems to go along with my quote of the day.  This poem is probably one of his most famous pieces.  This was the first poem I had read by Robert Frost, which was forced upon us in middle school or high school English class, I can’t remember which grade, but it left an impression on me.

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that made all the difference.
